There aren't words for how incredibly blessed I am to be carrying you. Your daddy and I have prayed for you since before you were even conceived - and we haven't stopped. Every thought and idea now revolves around you. What is best for you? What is best for me while I'm carrying you? Daddy's trying to convince me that he's going to die without me making some kind of meat for dinner every night, but you're just not wanting it these days! He also said for me to tell you that he's very happy that you're not making me as sick as you were a few weeks ago. I have to agree with him - I'll take every bit of discomfort and morning sickness as a blessing because I know it's a sign that you're growing healthy and strong - and trust me, I would already do ANYTHING for you. But it's nice to be able to eat and keep the food down :)
I'm already starting to show. All of the articles and advice columns on the internet say that I shouldn't have a belly for a few weeks yet, but you're sure excited to let the world know that I'm pregnant with you! (Could you be a line backer? Daddy sure does hope so - and I've already put the big nix on you going to Ohio State to play football...I'm gonna need you to stay much closer than that!) I love my growing belly - you've already given me an excuse to go shopping!! YAY!! While we're on the subject, you should know that I love clothes, shoes, accesories, etc etc etc... and you have my word that you will ALWAYS be dressed to a T. I just cant wait to find out what you are, so I can start shopping for you too!!
We're moving into a new house in a few weeks. I'm beyond excited for you to come home to a brand new house. Daddy and I are going to work very hard to get it settled but while the painting and some of the decor may not be completed, I can guarantee that this house will be packed wall to wall with nothing but love and adoration for you. I can't wait for you to grow up in this beautiful home and I already dream of every milestone you'll accomplish in it.
I thought that when I write you monthly, I'd list 5 things you'll need to know about me and your Daddy...that way you'll be about up to speed by the time we meet you face to face! :)
***1. We're both a little nuts. You'll know this in a few weeks when you have ears to hear all of the crazy things we say and do. It may sound crazy, but one of the best things about us is how much we laugh and how much fun we have. I hope you have a great combination of both our personalities. There are good and bad sides to both of us, but I know you'll gain nothing but the best...and you're going to be awesome.
***2. I love to cook and cant wait for you to help me in the kitchen! (Although you wouldn't know it from the crazy amount of take-out we've gotten in the past month). And you're going to be a great little eater! I've already decided to make your baby food and I'm already scoping out yummy recipes for you to try!
***3. Music is a huge part of our lives...and we promise to expose you to the greats of the past and present - and many different genres (and do our absolute best so that you never have to know who Ke$ha is). I cant wait for you and I to rock away countless hours, listening to music together.
***4. We love eachother. You are being born to two people that are so in love with eachother that it's crazy. Your Daddy is my soul mate - and God blessed me beyond measure when he gave me your Daddy. We promise to always display love and respect for eachother, and raise you with an amazing example of what true love is. This way one day, you'll know exactly what to look for in the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. That's a looong time in the future though...and I'm gonna be a little selfish, keeping you all for myself for awhile.
***5. We love God. He brought us together...and He gave us you. We'll teach you all about Him and be a living example that as long as you put Him first in your life and trust in Him always, there's nothing you can't do. We will love you as much as humanly possible, but God will always love you more. With those two things combined, you're going to be the most loved baby on the block. I promise.
We love you so much. And we can't wait to meet your precious little face! Counting down the days (only about 222 days to go, so lets make a deal - I promise to let you eat cake for dinner as soon as you're eating solid foods - as long as you're nice to me for the next 7 months). ;)
